Dubai, UAE – June 12, 2025: Al-Futtaim Toyota has officially unveiled the Land Cruiser Hybrid, the first-ever hybrid electric variant of the iconic Land Cruiser lineup, in the UAE. This launch sets a new standard for electrified off-road vehicles, combining Toyota’s advanced hybrid innovation with over 70 years of Land Cruiser legacy. The result is a vehicle that delivers enhanced performance while preserving the legendary durability, reliability, and all-terrain prowess.

Making its global debut in the Middle East, the Land Cruiser Hybrid reflects the deep-rooted connection between the region and this trusted nameplate. Since 1951, the Land Cruiser has been a vital companion in some of the world’s toughest environments, supporting communities and adventures alike.

This new model represents a significant step in Toyota’s journey toward carbon neutrality, following its multi-pathway strategy. With nearly three decades of hybrid leadership, Toyota has engineered a vehicle that delivers impressive power, smoother driving, and environmental efficiency—without compromising the authentic Land Cruiser experience.

Commenting on the launch

Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota & Lexus, expressed appreciation for the strong reception the Land Cruiser 300 Series has received since its 2021 debut across the UAE. He highlighted the importance of expanding electrified vehicle options in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy, noting that including the flagship Land Cruiser in this shift is a milestone. Brent emphasized the UAE’s significant role in shaping the Land Cruiser over the past 70 years, stating that this hybrid launch is just the beginning of an ongoing collaboration with Toyota to refine the ultimate electric off-roader, guided by customer feedback.

The new Land Cruiser Hybrid stays true to the model’s core principles

Dependability, ruggedness, and off-road capability — while leveraging electrification for better performance. The hybrid system delivers 20% more torque and 40% faster throttle response than traditional systems, resulting in a smoother, more powerful, and responsive drive. Its 3.5L twin-turbo V6, paired with a parallel hybrid system, produces 457hp and 790Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser to date — with outstanding efficiency.

Toyota conducted extensive testing across diverse terrains, including the UAE’s deserts, mud tracks, and mountains, to ensure the hybrid version retains its legendary off-road prowess. Lessons from demanding competitions like the Dakar Rally were incorporated to strengthen the vehicle’s endurance and handling in harsh conditions.

The hybrid drivetrain was engineered with reliability in mind. If the hybrid unit fails, the vehicle can still run using the combustion engine alone — a key advantage in remote areas. The hybrid battery is waterproofed to maintain the vehicle’s high fording capabilities, ensuring it can cross water obstacles safely.

Technological enhancements include Electric Power Steering (EPS) for improved steering feel and low-speed handling, and a built-in 1500W AC inverter that supplies household-level 220V power — perfect for powering outdoor equipment during adventures.

Offered in VXR and GR-S trims, the Land Cruiser Hybrid caters to different customer tastes — from luxury seekers to off-road enthusiasts. The VXR trim features new Jet Black hybrid bumpers, and both variants are marked with signature HYBRID Beyond Zero and 457TT badges.

More than just a model update, “the Land Cruiser LC300 Hybrid signals Toyota’s dedication to sustainable mobility while staying true to its brand legacy. It represents a thoughtful fusion of tradition and innovation, offering customers in the UAE — and globally — a smarter, cleaner way to experience the world’s most challenging terrains”.
