Polestar 3 met its WLTP

The journey, completed in mixed weather including rain, lasted 22 hours and 57 minutes. Behind the wheel, professional efficiency drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker rotated every three hours to stay sharp. Remarkably, the Polestar 3 met its WLTP range estimate of 706 km (438 miles) with 20% battery still remaining and managed an extra 12.8 km (8 miles) after the display reached 0%, before finally reaching a charger.

Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller commented: “We are proud to welcome a world record holder into the Polestar family. This achievement proves that the Polestar 3 is redefining expectations for electric performance and range.”

Polestar UK Managing Director Matt Galvin added: “This record highlights how far EV battery technology has come. For a premium SUV to easily surpass the distance from London to Edinburgh is remarkable and firmly dispels the myth that EVs can’t go the distance.”

The attempt was supervised by Guinness World Records adjudicator Paulina Sapinska and documented by Webfleet, which provided independently verified video, GPS data, odometer readings, and battery logs. The SUV was entirely unmodified, equipped with standard 20-inch wheels and Michelin Sport 4 EV tyres. Support for the drive was provided by the AA.
