MG Cyber GTS premiere
With the launch of the new Cyber GTS concept, which made its premiere in the UK this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG is once again paying tribute to its history.
First off, Josef Kaban, head of design at MG, revealed to Top Gear that the interior of the prototype had a 2+2 layout. The concept car still has the roadster’s face, but as you go closer to the inside, the design starts to take shape.

With 0-100 km/h acceleration rates of 5.0 and 3.2 seconds, respectively, we anticipate that the sports vehicle will be powered by single (250kW/475Nm) and dual e-motor (375kW/725Nm) powertrains.
The standard Cyberster model has a CLTC range of up to 311 miles (501 km) when powered by a 64 kWh battery. A larger 77 kWh battery, capable for up to 360 mi (580 km) CLTC range, is featured in the 150 kW motor grade. The range of MG’s dual-motor variant is 323 miles (520 km).
If the MG Cyber GTS has less mass overall, which is usually the case when comparing similar coupe and convertible twins, it might even be faster.
The streamlined roofline, heavily tapered rear windscreen, and sleek ducktail, along with the new metal, glass, and plastic between the axles, produce an attractive new fastback design that together convey a strong statement of intent from MG.
The Cyber GTS looks to have standard doors rather than the dihedral or scissor doors found on the Cyberster.
The GTS Concept is now just that—a concept—but it seems like MG is measuring interest in a production vehicle. How do you guys feel about the new Cyber GTS from MG? For about $50,000, would you purchase one? Tell us in the comments below.
