Chung’s leadership has also earned him titles like MotorTrend’s Person of the Year (2023) and Newsweek’s Visionary of the Year (2022).

A Legacy of Innovation and Leadership in Mobility

The Automotive News Centennial Award has honored three generations of the Chung family — Founding Chairman Ju-yung Chung, Honorary Chairman Mong-Koo Chung, and current Executive Chair Euisun Chung — for their profound impact on the global auto industry.

Ju-yung Chung laid Hyundai’s foundation with a belief that

“Nothing is impossible,” driving Korea’s industrial rise. His son, Mong-Koo Chung, spearheaded Hyundai and Kia’s global expansion, emphasizing quality and reliability. Today, Euisun Chung builds on this legacy, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric growth.

Under Euisun Chung’s leadership, Hyundai Motor Group has emerged as a leader in electrification, software-defined vehicles, and future mobility solutions.
