General Motors (GM) continues to hold a strong position in the Middle East’s full-size SUV market, driven by its premium lineup from Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac. Supported by a growing base of young customers, GM achieved a 28% year-over-year increase in third-quarter sales compared to 2024.

This growth reinforces GM’s leadership in the region’s evolving mobility landscape

Led by standout models such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade. The surge highlights the Middle East’s enthusiasm for high-performance, luxurious, and technology-driven vehicles. In September 2025, GM’s top-performing markets in the region were Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait.

Beyond vehicle sales, GM Middle East remains dedicated to customer satisfaction

The company has seen a 33% increase in repeat aftersales customers over the past five years—proof of growing trust and loyalty. GM also manages an extensive spare parts inventory for the Middle East and Africa, maintaining a parts fill rate above 95% for fast-moving items. This operational excellence ensures minimal downtime and maximum reliability for GM customers across the region.

In a major technological milestone, GM has introduced over-the-air (OTA) software updates powered by its OnStar connected technology across GCC markets

This innovation allows seamless upgrades and enhanced connected services, marking a new phase in GM’s digital transformation.

GM’s success is also rooted in its deep understanding of regional consumers. While GCC nationals remain the primary buyers of full-size SUVs, there’s a rising number of Asian expatriates choosing GM vehicles as status symbols. Female ownership is also growing, particularly in the UAE and Qatar. Meanwhile, customers aged 20–29 are emerging as a key demographic, favoring models like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade.

Commenting on these achievements, Jack Uppal, President and Managing Director for GM Africa and the Middle East, said:

“Driven by a new generation of customers and changing mobility expectations, our full-size SUVs from Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac reflect the modern identity of the Middle East. The increasing influence of expatriate customers and the demand for powerful, premium, and connected vehicles signal an exciting shift in regional dynamics. With innovations like Super Cruise arriving soon, GM continues to lead with customer-focused technology and advanced driver-assistance systems.”

Model Highlights:

  • Chevrolet Tahoe: Gaining popularity among young Saudis and remains a top choice for Emiratis, supported by long-standing brand loyalty.

  • GMC Yukon: Resonates strongly with middle-aged South Asian buyers in Saudi Arabia while maintaining wide appeal among GCC nationals.

  • Cadillac Escalade: Expanding ownership across diverse groups including Indians, Pakistanis, British, and Arab buyers. Its luxury image particularly attracts young Saudis and Qataris.

The evolving ownership trends across the Middle East reflect GM’s growing bond with consumers, strengthened by high repeat ownership, rising popularity among expatriates, and increased engagement from female drivers.

Looking forward, GM Middle East is preparing to launch a diverse lineup across various powertrains

For Chevrolet, upcoming models include the new Captiva, the Captiva EV/PHEV family, and performance icons like the Corvette ZR1 and ZR1X. Cadillac’s future EV range will feature the VISTIQ, ESCALADE IQ, and the ultra-luxury CELESTIQ—underscoring GM’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence.
