Under the glittering skyline of one of the world’s most dynamic cities, Zeekr officially unveiled the all-new Zeekr 7X at an exclusive event in ZEEKR Space Dubai. The evening wasn’t just a car launch—it was a spectacle of innovation, lifestyle, and community, designed to showcase how the Chinese premium EV brand envisions the future of luxury mobility in the UAE and beyond.

A Futuristic Venue for a Futuristic Car

The choice of venue reflected Zeekr’s brand philosophy. ZEEKR Space Dubai, with its modern architecture, immersive lighting, and minimalist design, provided the perfect canvas for the debut of the 7X. Guests walked into an atmosphere that combined art gallery chic with cutting-edge automotive tech. Interactive displays allowed attendees to explore the SUV’s technology—from advanced driver-assist systems to fast-charging capabilities—while Zeekr’s design DNA was highlighted in digital presentations across the venue.

The event attracted media representatives, automotive journalists, influencers, industry executives, and VIP guests, all eager to witness the arrival of one of the region’s most talked-about new models.

Introducing the Zeekr 7X

The Zeekr 7X has been positioned as a mid-size premium electric crossover SUV that combines performance, luxury, and intelligent technology. Built on Geely’s advanced Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), it has been designed to directly compete with global best-sellers like the Tesla Model Y, but with its own unique flair.

Key Highlights Presented at the Launch:

  • Design Language: The 7X adopts Zeekr’s “Hidden Energy” design philosophy, highlighted by a sleek silhouette, muscular stance, and futuristic “Stargate” lighting system across the front fascia.
  • Performance Options: Guests were introduced to both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, with multiple battery sizes catering to daily urban users as well as long-distance drivers.
  • Technology & Safety: The cabin features advanced driver-assist systems, a next-gen infotainment suite, and AI-powered interaction tools designed for a seamless digital experience.
  • Comfort & Space: The SUV emphasizes premium finishes, a spacious cabin, and flexible seating, making it attractive for both families and young professionals in the UAE.

As one executive noted during the unveiling, the 7X is not just about moving people from A to B—it’s about offering a lifestyle choice that blends sustainability, luxury, and performance.

Celebrating the First Owners

A key highlight of the night was the introduction of the very first Zeekr 7X owners in the UAE. These early adopters were invited on stage and presented with symbolic keys to their vehicles, marking a milestone moment not only for them but also for the brand.

This celebratory handover was more than a formality; it was a recognition of those who believe in the future of EVs and were willing to be pioneers in the region. The audience applauded as the new owners shared their excitement and anticipation for being part of a new era of mobility.

For many, this moment underscored the sense of community and exclusivity Zeekr is trying to create—positioning its customers as brand ambassadors and lifestyle trendsetters, not just car buyers.

A Conversation with Tian Jinjun, Vice President, Zeekr Group International

During the launch of the Zeekr 7X, Fahed Abu Salah sat down with Tian Jinjun, Vice President of Zeekr Group International, to discuss the brand’s vision, strategy, and future in the Middle East and North Africa. From product plans to competition and service commitments, Tian shared insights into how Zeekr plans to stand out in a crowded EV landscape.

Fahed Abu Salah: Where do you see Zeekr in the next few years, especially here in the Middle East?

Tian Jinjun: We position ourselves as a luxury new energy vehicle brand. Over the next 2–5 years in the Middle East and North Africa, our ambition is to become the number one new energy vehicle brand in the region. It is a big challenge, but we are confident because we have strong business partners here, a growing product lineup, and a clear strategy for after-sales and spare parts support.

With so many Chinese automakers entering the market, how will Zeekr differentiate itself?

Competition is good—it helps us improve our products and services. But for us, the most important focus is always the customer. If our customers are satisfied, we don’t worry about competition. Customer experience and service quality matter more than market rivalry.

Zeekr shares platforms with brands like Polestar and Lotus. Doesn’t this create overlap?

Tian: Not at all. Geely Group has a clear brand strategy. Each brand has a unique positioning and customer base. While we do share some mechanical architecture, electronic systems, and smart driving technologies, the design language and brand DNA are unique to Zeekr. Some elements may appear similar, like seats or interior philosophies, but every model is tailored to its brand identity. For Zeekr, it’s about giving the driver and passengers confidence, comfort, and luxury.

Sustainability is key to new energy vehicles. Are you using recycled materials in Zeekr cars?

Tian: We do recycle materials in the body structure, such as steel and some metals. However, when it comes to interior materials like leather and trim, we work with global tier-one suppliers and prioritize uncompromising quality over recycled alternatives.

Can we expect more models in this market soon?

Tian: Absolutely. Beyond the 7X, we already have models like the 001 and the 009, and more will follow. We are preparing PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) models as well, to meet the diverse needs of the region. Performance models like the FR are also part of the lineup, though some may have limited volumes due to local homologation requirements.

Will Zeekr keep its prices stable in the GCC? After-sales service and spare parts are often weak points for new brands. How will Zeekr handle this?

Tian: Yes, our pricing is carefully positioned and stable. For example, the 7X is priced around AED 189,000, and we intend to keep this consistent. Stability is important for customer confidence.

This is a priority for us. Together with AW Rostamani Group, we have established dedicated Zeekr service centers, and we are leveraging Geely Group’s existing spare parts hub in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Before launching the 7X, we ensured spare parts—from bumpers to body panels—were already stocked in the UAE. So if a customer has an accident tomorrow, parts are immediately available. This reliability is key to our promise.

The Bigger Picture: Why the 7X Matters

The launch of the 7X isn’t just about a single model; it’s part of Zeekr’s larger mission to become the number-one new energy vehicle brand in the MENA region within the next five years. Executives at the event acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence, citing strong partnerships and an ambitious rollout strategy.

With sustainability becoming a regional priority and luxury consumers seeking alternatives to traditional brands, the 7X arrives at the right time. It represents:

  • A shift toward sustainable luxury in the GCC.
  • New competition for established EV brands like Tesla and Mercedes-EQ.
  • A statement of confidence by Zeekr that the Middle East is ready to embrace the EV lifestyle.

Looking Ahead

Deliveries of the Zeekr 7X will begin immediately in Dubai, with plans to expand availability across other emirates and GCC countries. Owners can look forward to fast-charging compatibility, advanced digital services, and continuous updates that enhance their vehicles over time.

For Zeekr, the Dubai launch was not just a product reveal—it was a brand statement. By honouring its first owners in such a high-profile, futuristic setting, Zeekr successfully positioned itself as a serious player in the premium EV market and signaled that it’s here to stay.

The Zeekr 7X launch in Dubai was more than an unveiling; it was a celebration of innovation, lifestyle, and the bold future of mobility. With its first owners proudly driving away, the 7X has taken its first step into the GCC automotive scene—where luxury and sustainability now share the same road.
